
Robin Chiang joined the office in 2007. Robin prepares and prosecutes U.S. and foreign patent applications in the fields of biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, nanotechnology, cleantech, and chemistry in addition to preparing legal opinions and conducting intellectual property due diligence. He also serves as the lead patent counsel for inventions arising out of the Joint BioEnergy Institute (JBEI), a U.S. Department of Energy Bioenergy Research Center drawing on the expertise and capabilities of Berkeley Lab and other research institutions to advance the development of next generation biofuels and bioproducts. Robin previously worked as in-house patent counsel for a publicly held biotech company and as an associate in a prominent Washington D.C.-based intellectual property law firm.
